Đảo ngữ câu điều kiện
Thông thường, ngoài viết lại câu điều kiện với “If”, người ta còn viết lại chúng với “Should” ở câu điều kiện loại 1, “Were” ở câu điều kiện loại 2 và “ Had” ở loại 3.
* Lưu ý: đảo ngữ không làm nghĩa câu thay đổi.
Đảo ngữ trong câu điều kiện loại 1
Câu điều kiện loại 1 diễn tả tình huống có thể xảy ra ở hiện tại hoặc tương lai.
Công thức:

| If + S1 + V (hiện tại), S2 + will + V (nguyên thể) | Should + S1 + (not)+ V (nguyên thể), S2 + V (nguyên thể) |
| If you should call him, he will help you.(Nếu bạn gọi cho anh ta, anh ta sẽ giúp bạn) | Should you call him, he will help you.(Nếu bạn gọi cho anh ta, anh ta sẽ giúp bạn) |
* Lưu ý:
Nếu trong câu có “should” ở mệnh đề if, thì đảo “should” lên đầu câuE.g.: If she shouldn’t drive car so fast, she won’t have an accident.(Nếu cô ấy không lái xe quá nhanh thì cô ấy đã không gặp tai nạn)
= Should she not drive a car so fast, she won’t have an accident.
Nếu trong câu không có “should”, chúng ta phải mượn “should”E.g.: If John has lunch, he won’t feel hungry. (Nếu John ăn trưa thì anh ta sẽ không không cảm thấy đói)
= Should John have lunch, he won’t feel hungry.
Đảo ngữ trong câu điều kiện loại 2
Câu điều kiện loại 2 diễn tả sự việc không có thật ở hiện tại và không có khả năng xảy ra.
Công thức:

* Lưu ý:
Nếu trong câu có động từ “were”, thì đảo “were” lên đầu.E.g.: If I were a bird, I would fly. (Nếu tôi là con chim thì tôi sẽ biết bay)
= Were I a bird, I would fly.
– Nếu trong câu không có động từ “were” thì mượn “were’ và dùng “ to V”E.g.: If I spoke german, I would move into Germany. (Nếu tôi nói tiếng đức thì tôi có thể chuyển đến Đức)
= Were I to speak German, I would move into Germany.
Đảo ngữ trong câu điều kiện loại 3
Câu điều kiện loại 3 giúp diễn tả sự việc không có thật trong quá khứ.
Công thức:

Đảo ngữ trong câu điều kiện hỗn hợp
Chúng ta chỉ đảo ngữ mệnh đề “if” giống đảo ngữ trong điều kiện loại loại 3, vế sau giữ nguyên.
